Sprawl Repair & Recovery

New Urbanists have been working on ways of fixing sprawl almost since the beginning of the movement in 1980. For the past decade, those efforts have ramped up into a full-blown initiative. Foundation board member Galina Tachieva is the linchpin of the Sprawl Repair initiative that is today’s most visible part of the work, spawning a very useful handbook and an urban redesign methodology. Steve Mouzon’s Sprawl Recovery work is more polemical at this point.
